Laura Maurer, Founder and CEO, brings a personal commitment to recovery, having overcome her own challenges since July 23, 2021. Her career began at Southwestern Behavioral Health, Steppingstone Rehab in December 2022, where she started as a Recovery Assistant and achieved her Certified Peer Support Professional certificate in August 2024. The catalyst for establishing this organization was the tragic loss of her oldest son Matthew to a fentanyl overdose in May 2023, at the age of 26. Recognizing a critical need for extended recovery homes and a holistic healing approach in the community, Laura is driven by a passion for helping others and dedicated to the transformative impact of Love Matthew Recovery Homes on individuals and the community at large.
